Verification is how UZIA stays trustworthy

Every member — buyer or supplier — pays a one-time 1,000 KSH verification fee before accessing the marketplace. Suppliers can then progress through trust tiers.

The verification process

STEP 1

Legal registration check

Company registration, tax identity and directors verified against national registries.

STEP 2

Physical site inspection

A local UZIA agent visits the premises, warehouse or farm and documents capacity.

STEP 3

Product quality audit

Sample inspection against declared specifications, packaging and certification.

STEP 4

Trade reference checks

We contact past buyers and confirm delivery, quality and payment behaviour.

STEP 5

Ongoing monitoring

Buyer reviews, dispute rates and re-audits keep a badge earned, not permanent.

What you'll need before you apply

Requirements differ by country and by whether you register as an individual or a company. Upload only the documents you actually hold — our review team works with what applies to your market.

National ID

All members

Front and back, or the equivalent national identity card in your country.

Passport

All members

Accepted in place of a national ID, especially for cross-border traders.

Trading Licence

All members

Where your country issues one for your line of trade.

Tax PIN / KRA PIN

All members

Kenyan members upload the KRA PIN; other countries upload their tax identification certificate.

Current CR12

Company

Kenya only — the equivalent is a certificate of directors or shareholding register.

Certificate of Incorporation / Registration

Company

Company or business name registration certificate.

Business Permit

All members

County, municipal or local authority permit.

Valid Tax Compliance Certificate

Must be current and unexpired.
